Vatican
City, the world's smallest country. We had the opportunity to visit
St. Peter's Basilica, full of relics and amazing ornamentation.
All of the artwork in the Basilica is done in mosaic, which is absolutely
unbelievable. It is truly mind-boggling how big the building is. In
order to prove itself to be the largest in the world, there are markings
on the church floor showing the lengths of other churches in the world.
(one of the churches marked on the floor is the Duomo in Florence) The
white bird you see in photo # 11 is actually 6 feet wide.
